Emily Irene VanCamp was originally interested in becoming a dancer, but following a trip to her sister Katie's set in the Ladies Room, she became more interested in acting. As she began taking acting classes, Emily Irene VanCamp also got guest spots on television series in Canada. She was on in a variety of shows, including in Are You afraid Of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp's career exploded after he was cast in the role of Sam Dolan, a regular in the series WB Horror Mystery Glory Days. Even even though the show received great reviews, it unfortunately had to be cancelled after only 9 episodes due to the low ratings. In spite of her May 12th, 1986 birth date her actress was offered the role of Everwood in its cast as Amy Abbott. The role resulted in her being nominated as an Young Artist Award nominee and for four Teen Choice Awards.
